The Old Farmer’s Almanac—Growing Strong, Still Publishing!

About The Old Farmer's Almanac

The 2027 Old Farmer's Almanac will arrive on September 1, 2026!

A Tradition That Never Stopped

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has never stopped publishing since it was founded in 1792, during George Washington’s presidency. The 2027 Old Farmer’s Almanac—with forecasts for winter 2026-2027—will arrive on September 1, 2027!

For more than 230 years—through wars, economic upheavals, and global pandemics—we’ve continued to publish our annual yellow-covered edition.

That familiar little book remains a cherished tradition for generations of readers.

More Than a Yellow Book

Today, The Old Farmer’s Almanac lives far beyond the pages of the book itself.

In addition to the flagship Almanac, we publish the Garden Guide, a series of practical gardening handbooks, our beloved calendars, the Kids Almanac, and other special publications designed to help you grow, plan, observe, and enjoy the seasons.

Every Season. Every Day.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac reaches far beyond its printed pages. Online, you’ll find long-range forecasts, planting calendars, frost dates, and practical tools and calculators to help you plan, plant, and prepare.

Through our newsletters and social channels, we share timely guidance throughout the year—for gardeners, stargazers, and weather-watchers alike.

From time to time, there has been confusion among publications that use the name “almanac.” The Old Farmer’s Almanac, established in 1792, remains in continuous publication, in print and online, and continues to grow.

As sure as the Sun will rise, we will be here: useful, with a pleasant degree of wisdom.

Thank you soo much for clarification. I was feeling depressed thinking it included you. Relieved. Knowing there is still one thing in the world that is not changing brings a sense of stability and calmness to my life. Thank you very much.

This info just made my whole day!!! I have heard the Farmer's Almanac was going away and probably, like many others, thought it included the "old" version as well. I would be lost without my daily email which provides me with so much information!

I’m so proud and happy to hear this. My family was talking about over dinner last night. I thought we losing yet another icon that we grew up with. My mother and mother in law used it like a bible. I’ve followed in their footsteps and so with my daughter. It was sad to think of losing it. Thank you for all the knowledge you’ve shared with my ancestors and descendants. And I thank God for wholesome publications like this.

I have been purchasing & reading "The OLD Farmer's Almanac" from cover to cover for the last 25-30 years. I have used it to plan vacations, when to spring plant / clean out & prep for the yard for winter, learn about astrology & astronomy, utilize many parts of the reference section, bests days for different functions, moon phases, weather, etc. I also enjoy the humor, history & informative articles. My husband mentioned he saw that 'the almanac' was ceasing so I looked it up to find it was the Maine publication not New Hampshire. Then I found the article above in my email inbox. What a relief and So Glad "The OLD Farmer's" will continue! Hoorah!!!
