Catherine Boeckmann is the Executive Digital Editor of Almanac.com and a Purdue University Extension Master Gardener. She loves helping readers find practical, trustworthy answers—whether they’re figuring out when to plant tomatoes, wondering what they’re seeing in the night sky, planning around the seasons, or simply trying to understand how something works.
Catherine has been part of The Old Farmer’s Almanac for more than 15 years. She works with gardeners, meteorologists, astronomers, and other experts to turn specialized knowledge into useful information that anyone can understand and put to work. She has written extensively about plants, gardening, and the natural world and has helped create many of the articles, newsletters, maps, and interactive tools readers use across Almanac.com.
A native of Indiana, Catherine has always been happiest outdoors and interested in the rhythms of nature and the seasons. She volunteers with her neighborhood community garden, where produce is grown for local food pantries and refugee communities, and has created plant guides and taught beginner gardening workshops. Her favorite part of the job is helping readers get the answer they came for—and hopefully discover something interesting along the way.
