Very true! By carefully examining the gospel in Matthew you see that Jesus is now referred to as a young ‘child’ no longer an ‘infant’ as the previous verses state. And the verse states at this point they were living in a house, no longer a manger.
the simple answer to this riddle was a perfect alignment of 2 planets at their brightest pick making it look like one super bright star, just like we had last year...this phenomenon happen (according to the gentleman that wrote article last year) once every 2000+yrs. So i will say that it was more of likely what they saw...but if we want to be mystically religious about it it's that event last year mean a new messiah was born????
This every 2,000 year reoccurring phenomenon was the very first thought that I had, too. It was even being discussed and referred to by so many at the time as its being the Star of Bethlehem. So much so by so many, and with so few if any solid reasons given not to accept it, that they appeared to have finally settled the debates and arguments to the satisfaction of all. However, I suppose mystery is what keeps the magic and wonder of Christmas alive and well.
Science and religion certainly do belong together. True science is merely the discovery of the truths God established in the universe. Let us not confuse science with scientism.
Amen!
Amen Kristyn! I was getting ready to type a similar comment. May everyone have a very Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ !!
Amen.
From the moment of creation God set the stars and planets in motion. The multiple convergences of Jupiter (commonly thought of as the King planet) with Venus (the Mother planet), Regulus (the King Star) and numerous other observable astronomical events all tell the story for those who have eyes to see. Jupiter’s retrograde motion to move backwards and appear to make a circle around Regulus is just one example of a provable, observable phenomenon that is not miraculous but screams of a divine plan and prophecy being fulfilled.
The star was created and positioned at its intended place and time by the Creator, just like all the rest. Does science explain absolutely how anything was created?
[A group of angles shone brightly in the night sky to lead the wise men. Then they hovered over Bethlehem until the wise men arrived. Angels also appeared to the shepherds in the field. God's angels (Means: messengers) are often involved in spectacular events here on earth.]
THIS COMMENT IS SO FULL OF MISINFORMATION. IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE "WISE MEN" MONTHS IF NOT YEARS TO GET TO BETHLEHEM! THEY DIDN'T SEE JESUS UNTIL HE WAS AT LEASE 2 YEARS OLD. THEY WERE NOT AT THE MANGER WITH THE SHEPARDS!
