The Old Farmer's Almanac is a waste of time, it's always wrong
Stop paying attention, they never get anything right and all they do is guess.
Feb Weather
You couldn't have been farther off base if you had deliberately tried to be wrong! You predicted a mild month with above normal temps. You said, "Winter temperatures will be well above normal, on average, with the coldest periods in mid-December, from late December into early January, and in late February." In FACT, the coldest time was NOT when you said it would be, but in February! BITTERLY cold when you said Feb would be above average and mild! Again you said, "The snowiest periods will be in mid-November, early to mid-December, and mid-February." WRONG AGAIN! The MOST snow came in February!
Why provide your location
Why even bother with asking for my zip code or address for accurate weather when you give me weather for “Heartland”? I am in Kansas City, and you gave me weather for all the way up to lower South Dakota and Wisconsin??? The temperature and weather just two hours north are DRASTICALLY different than here. They can get snow and we could be at 50 degrees. SMH.
Does it honestly matter if
Does it honestly matter if they check back in with us even though they are just guessing? Since when do we really on man? We are let down by people daily, the farmers aren't perfect but they predict according to their crop and if they can make money and they plan ahead. DON'T PUT YOUR FAITH IN MAN ONLY GOD. They don't need an apology for not knowing what God does, he predicts the weather
Response to Daniel Anderson
It was definitely a record breaking coldest I've ever felt in my 40yrs on earth. However, we have to remember that the farmers almanac is but a guess as to when, how much, how cold and where. This is why we don't really on man. The farmers don't know the future only God does. I don't really on the weathermen or women because like I said they are just guessing. It's a hot or miss.
What a lie....
Yeah RECORD BREAKING snowfall for winter 2020-2021. RECORD BREAKING COLD as well. In my 46 years of life I’ve NEVER seen this much snow. I don’t mind occasional snow but this is ridiculous.
Missed the mark
February 14 2021-sadly Farmers was way way off on weather prediction this year. It’s 5 degrees out light snow for three days. Uncommon bitter cold. Usually the Almanac is spot on
Des Moines, IA way off
We are above the average snowfall in Iowa to date. Heavy snow starting in October. blizzards and heavy snowfall in Jan to early Feb, that is persisting into the remainder of this week at least, with below zero temps. So much for the almanac's accuracy.
actual weather
I think yall should check back in and leave a quick note on how the actual weather turned out that day! For example Florida you came in right after one of our biggest snow falls in one day since 1965. The whole country was under winter storm Nathaniel. So what was the prediction compared to what happened? We understand weather being hard to predict far out and the range of area-that its not always pinpoint accurate days or week can be off and area. Yet sometimes it is more than spot on considering farmers have been following this for years in the area and generally know what time of year does what and where after hundreds of years! So let us know folks! Did the day turn out like planned for your location? Whats your location?
Wedding in September 2021
We are planning an outdoor wedding in September 2021 in Independence, MO. Is the outlook good for outdoors or should we plan indoors?
