Mating Dance of Monarchs

Sunlight in a monarch's wing,
stained glass come to life.

Orange sails stiff in the breeze,
glide down to the buddleia,

drink nectar from purple bracts.
Flapping their fans open and shut,

one lights as one takes off.
Two circle, rise and spiral in pure joy.
