I've always been left-handed, but due to environment do many things right-handed, such as batting a ball, taking lids off jars, cutting with a knife. When bowling I have to try it with both hands to see which way is working best that day. I taught myself to write with my right hand after witnessing my brother's difficulty when he had his arm in a cast and was unable to use his dominant hand for several weeks. I cut with either hand, which is great when I'm doing sewing projects, neither hand gets too tired. As I've aged I think my right hand has become a bit more dominant, so I've decided I'm ambidextrous now. I had to use those horrible grass shears for trimming around the yard as a kid, they were only right-handed. Hated them and never did master using them before weed-eaters became popular for trimming. One of my sons teased me with heading down the left-handed road until he turned 6. We had purchased a lefty mitt for him for baseball at 5, then at 6 he decided to switch to right and became a right-handed adult. Maybe someone made some kind of negative comment to him, unbeknownst to me. It's been fun reading everyone's comments.
