At what time of year should I plant new shrubbery?
Answer
Mid-August through September is a good time to transplant any shrubs that you’ve purchased with burlap-covered root balls. When you bring them home from the nursery, be sure to get them in the ground within two to three days. Don’t fertilizer new shrubs. Wait until the second year, when their feeding roots have become established.
