Betsy Ross (American seamstress and upholsterer) died on Saturday, January 30, 1836.

According to folklore, Betsy Ross (née Elizabeth Griscom) designed and sewed the first U.S. flag, although there is no firm evidence to support this. However, records do indicate that she made ensigns and pennants for the Philadelphia navy during the American Revolutionary War.
