When did Laura Secord (Canadian heroine) die?

Laura Secord (Canadian heroine) died on Saturday, October 17, 1868.

During the War of 1812, Secord, a loyalist, learned that the Americans were planning to attack British troops stationed at a small outpost in Beaver Dams. On June 22, 1813, Secord walked almost 20 miles from Queenston to Beaver Dams, through rough terrain patrolled by the enemy, to warn the British outpost’s commanding officer, Lieutenant FitzGibbons, of the impending attack. The British and allied native warriors were able to thwart the American plans.
