Should my harvest of onions go directly in the root cellar?
Answer
You should allow onions to dry for several weeks before you store them in a root cellar or any other storage area. Spread them out on an open screen off the ground to dry. Don’t store any onions that are bruised. Keep the storage temperature near 32 degrees F. Slight freezing will not hurt onions if you don’t handle them while they are frozen.
