Who first said, β€œThe world is your oyster?”
It was the bard Shakespeare who gave us this phrase. In β€œThe Merry Wives of Windsor,” he wrote, β€œWhy, then the world’s mine oyster, Which I with sword will open.” We take this phrase nowadays to mean that the world offers everyone so many opportunities that one can simply choose among them.
