Who thought up the idea of roller coasters?
Answer
Believe it or not, the story goes that it was Russia’s empress, Catherine the Great, back in the 18th century. She apparently was pining for winter one summer day, missing the carts that Slavs used to ride down hills of ice. She apparently thought up the idea of putting wheels on those carts in summer and the rest, as they say, is history.
