Hello, I am being gifted a cutting from my grandfather's heirloom grapes but it's September! Is there a way to preserve the cutting until spring or shall I try to plant and winterize? I live in southern Idaho. Thank you so much for any advice.

what is the best way to get overgrown grape vines pruned and back to a normal growth
I have old vine it has some dead wood and split wood 4years ago I had termites eat a lot of the trunk no more termites but still have some dead wood also a lot of the tree has bark coming off of it should this be taken off. It has 4 main branches that are over 3 inches round how far back should I prune them also part of them have dead wood split and are about 4 to 5 foot long. also I pull all old vine off fence chain do not want them to grow on fence they have three big T and pipes over 8 ft. also 4 main branches all go the same way south.
I have tiny black ants on some of the clusters of my Thompson seedless grapes when they are picked. When I wash them in the sink they are all over the place. Can I use vinegar water or Clorox diluted in water to rinse them off before bringing them into the house to wash? They are a real problem this season. Thanks for your help.
I use the Listerine, Dawn dish soap method. Have had success so far!
