I live in Alaska

I live in Alaska and your temperatures for June were completely off. But it was dry in June. So whoever is doing your Alaska desk may want to know.

Terms used on Alaska 2 month weather forecast

What do all the abbreviations for the 2 month forecast in Alaska stand for? I'm not sure how to read the force without a legend to go by to explain all the; N, C, S, E, W.... Please explain?

Abbreviations

The abbreviations are as follows: north (N), central (C), south (S), east (E), west (W), and elsewhere (EW). In the context of our forecast, the terms refer to parts of the state (so “north” means “northern Alaska,” “central” means “central Alaska,” and so on.)

I think that is a VERY vague

I think that is a VERY vague answer. Is central Fairbanks area or Anchorage? Or is Fairbanks east and Bethel West? Or is South referring to Kenai peninsula and does it include Anchorage?

So I guess my question is-which region is Anchorage. We are are normally considered south-central so do we follow the South or the Central forecast?

Alaska

In our forecasts, we consider Fairbanks to be central, Bethel west, and Anchorage and Juneau south. Note that whether a city is “central” depends on the context in the forecast: Anchorage would be considered “central” when we’re speaking in terms of East and West, but “south” in terms of North and South. Fairbanks would be considered “central” in both contexts.

Alaska Regions

From an Alaskan perspective... Fairbanks is considered in the Interior. Juneau is in the Southeast, also known as the Panhandle. Anchorage, Kenai/Soldotna, Palmer/Wasilla are all Southcentral. Anchorage and Juneau are nowhere near each other, especially when it comes to weather, and should not be lumped together as "South". From a born and raised Alaskan.

Are you kidding with N C E W etc?

Are you kidding with the abbreviations?

Do you realize that the state of Alaska comprises nearly fully 1/3 of the landmass of the United States? How can you possibly give us weather based on the entire state? Some of our landmass is above the Arctic Circle and some of it is fairly similar to Seattle Washington. This is beyond ridiculous.

Thanks, I guess.

Y'all are worse than Texans.

True, but we don't care how

True, but we don't care how they do it in the Lower-48.

Anchorage and Juneau weather

Anchorage and Juneau weather patterns are completely different and nowhere even close to each other. Alaska regions need to be re-worked.
