Weather - Climate Change Comments

I have relied on FA for years and found it to be consistent. In response to the quasi-political comments posted as fact.
1. Air quality index in Japan and China (due to factory closures) is not weather, a byproduct of heating cooling rotation/Coriolis effect.
2. “Global warming“.. oops “big pause” oops “climate change” Has been used by politicos as a lever to get us to pay and vote. Reality is yes the climate does change. We have had ice ages, mini ice ages and very hot periods, of that I do not debate. The question is, how much of it is man induced? If you do your research, not just take punditry comment, you might be surprised. To start, we/mankind have no where near the power to affect weather compared to our sun. Greenhouse effect has been proven a falicy. As CO2 went up the predicted rise in temp (due to greenhouse effect) did not happen, so the big pause was invented. I won’t go into more detail, that would take pages, ponder this though. Al Gore who sparked this whole thing, pridicted Ocean Levels rising, then when prices dropped he bought oceanfront property in Florida and California! He sold his television company to Al Jazeera and they are owned by Qutar, you know a mega oil supplier. If anything, he is two faced. So how much do you really want to trust what he tells told you? As to his predictions, research them, none happened! Lastly, the data. As recorded it does not indicate what is being claimed, per NASA scientist who actually did the study. It didn’t match predictions so, the figures/measurements were modified the suite the theory. The reasoning was, the measurements didn’t indicate what we expected so we need to adjust them for reasons such as, measuring device was in the wrong place and shade must have affected it. A major sin in science is to modify the data yet here we look the other way here, Do we affect our planet? I am sure we do. Does climate change? Yes it does? Are we contributing in any degree? Perhaps, but to a vert small degree contrast with the sun. The big question no one can answer is. Where is the calamity? It always seems to be tomorrow and when it doesn’t happen, it becomes tomorrow again. So in short, please don’t take the word of politicians or funding minded scientists, take the word of those with nothing to gain. It just might open your mind a tad. Lastly, 97% scientists is the biggest lie there is. It should say, 97% of scientists and science journal writers that were questioned agree that climate changes. None of which had accurate knowledge of man’s affect on that change, per the Australia study. That was a 1000 people (yes not all were climatologists) less than .01% of scientists in the world.

weather is normal for here

Our weather is a little crazy in the campfire area. and we are northern california. in the foothills. because all the trees are gone. the valley heat and smog now come up the mountain. makes it gritty. which we are not use to. But our weather her is normal for what the almanac predicts and what we have seen in other years. ( I'm third generation.). as to climate change. in the 70s when I studied weather in college. we called it the urban Island effect. and it is reversible, with forethought. look how the air cleared in Japan, and china, when the factories were slowed down due to the virus. Don't be afraid. things change, But they stay the same. get involved, stay positive. Keep up the good work, farmers almanac. thanks from the moutain. Debra

Thank you, Farmers Almanac!

As usual, you are so right on! It was actually COLD way further into the season than usual this year. I'm in the Southern Central valley and usually my heavy blanket is exchanged for just a sheet in early June. This year I needed my blanket until only a couple weeks ago, early July! I really hope your forecast continues to be correct and it is cooler than usual in September and October. I can't stand the heat!

For those trying to use the cooler weather here to discredit "Global warming," please educate yourselves. The earth in general is heating up consistently. That change is causing CLIMATE CHANGE, which is causing major weather and climate disruptions. Those are facts, like it or not.

Pretty accurate as usual

They are pretty spot on for north of San Diego inland. It did rain A. LOT at the end of Feb into early March and then some mire in late March. We were all stuck inside anyway that’s to COVUD but the rain made it seem more dire. But I love the rain so bring it on! So far they are on target for summer and mid July does look to be a hot one. Hopefully they are right about Sept and Oct being cooler. I hate the Indian Summers out here.

yea, it's been cold

I also agree that Los Angeles has been far colder than it used to be. Some parts of L.A got snow for the first time in 50 years just last year in February 2019. Not to mention the bomb cyclone that came through in November and dropped nearly half a foot of snow in Lancaster and elevated parts of L.A. 2020 so far has just been fairly dry rather than hot, May and June did have some heatwaves but nothing like some summers have done. While global warming may be a threat it's definitely not this world ending catastrophe many alarmists make it out be. In fact Co2 doesn't even hold heat for that long. But either way winter 2020-2021 doesn't look like it's going to be much warmer. We will have to wait and see.

I've lived in LA for over 30 years. I've noticed the temperature getting colder, not warmer. In fact, we've had record breaking long cold spells in the past decade. We're into July and I'm still waiting for summer to arrive. The almanac confirms we've been experiencing below average temperatures. I'm still waiting for global warming to happen. We could use a little of it now.

Santa Monica Weather

I dont see much of a difference in Santa Monica living here for over 35 years and in California for 40 years. Generally the 80s were hotter, 90s cooler, 2000s back and forth and still we have some hotter summers and some cooler ones, sometimes more rain and cooler winters and sometimes, warmer less rainy winters. We have had drought periods over the past 40 years too, but nothing like centuries ago when there were droughts over 50-100 years long. Seems like the young people think that Santa Ana winds are a new phenomena, there are not and actually they are less common that past few years. I'm not sure global warming is as profound as the young people think it is, but they havent been around and dont know, they are just exposed to constant alarmist warnings.

Not accurate

Forecast is off by a lot, may has been much warmer than usual and it barely rained in February

Caucasians can't stand the heat so they blew up the kitchen. Chemtrails are wrong.

I don't think the weather people can speak honestly about geo-engineering because they have to sign non-disclosure agreements.
