Fall

So looking forward to Fall and the beautiful Fall color. This summer weather of day after day in the 90’s is too much for me. Counting the days until both astronomical and meteorological dates!

Global warming

Boo how on global warming. We had a hard frost in early May which killed all seedlings in raised beds. Way behind in planting because of the cold nights and 50 degree days. Global warming is a joke.

Global warming causing inaccurate predictions

I believe the predictions would be more accurate if it wasn't for global warming and the destruction of the Amazonian rainforests interferring with how the weather is predicted by Farmers Almanac. The rules for predicting the weather date back to the early 1800's, with the addition of a formula that slightly altered the rules and changed into a math formula occurring sometime later. The predictions are made years in advance. With how quickly global warming is increasing the Earth's temperatures via an excelerated Greenhouse Effect, in conjunction with the massive and continuing devastation of the rainforests, both are resulting in the reshaping of "normal" weather patterns; thus, its no small wonder the predictions are off - these are factors that weren't even considered, let alone thought of, when the Farmers Almanac weather prediction system was first developed.

off track

So far in WNY this prediction couldn't be any wronger. We have had more SNOW in MAY than I can ever recall, and it is just so cold! The other day, there was a legit snowstorm/blizzard like conditions! What is going on!? We're all on quarantine and can't even get outside....boo

Annual Weather Summary

So far, we've had a very chilly spring, including snow in April. I have photos of that from my front steps. It did melt quickly, once the sun appeared after a couple of days, but it still makes it difficult for the birds coming back from the southern habitats to find food, so they line up on my front steps. It's May, and still chilly; still have the furnace running and all window shades are drawn up to let in solar heat, but I'd like a warm spring, thank you!
