I would like to buy some fresh black walnuts for planting. I don't know of any growing locally to me in southern oregon. Would someone be interested in shipping me some and I pay you? Thanks
I have a black Walnut tree. Maybe you could send me a email of where I could send you a dozen of Fresh Black walnuts falling in September. Just send me the address the last week of August. I live in EL Dorado Arkansas.
Hello
I have 2 large black walnut trees in my yard. All of the walnuts have been discarded already or the squirrels have eaten them. In the spring I am sure I will have several small trees already growing if you would like a couple? I just pull them out and throw them away. What state are you in?

ugh. so I just bought a house and moved in recently. have 2 dogs, ages 2 and 11. the older dog has no interest in these things, she just loves to bask in the sun and enjoys her backyard. I had noticed a couple of these lime looking fruits and had no idea what they were. my young dog brought a walnut inside the other day without my knowledge I found it later all crushed up on the carpet. I cleaned it up but didn't think anything of it. she has had diarrhea for the last few days but other than that she is running around and has been her energetic happy self. Now that I know what this green fruit is, I have discovered the two large black walnut trees in my neighbors yard. After reading these comments I am not looking forward to the next couple of months, they will most certainly be falling into my yard by the hundreds. I will have to be diligent with picking these things up, oh joy :/
I’ve come to notice my two very old trees tend to drop all their leaves at once. In just the right breeze it’s pretty amazing to just let them rain around you…. Before realizing you need to clean them up, haha! That little bit of magic makes me love them though ❤️
We have a grove of black walnut trees, approximately 2 acres. I bought a nut wizard last year - what a great invention! My dad was totally unimpressed until I single-handedly picked up half the orchard's windfall in a couple of hours.
I moved into my grandparents' old home in 2011. The black walnut tree in the backyard has been both a saving grace and headache. After losing some chickens to a heatwave we moved their house to under the walnut tree and they've been happy (and cooler) ever since. However, I am quite tired of stepping on walnuts and almost rolling my ankles over and over. I've picked them up, I've left them in place. I've tried harvesting but discovered if you don't put them somewhere squirrel proof to dry, the squirrels will help themselves! I clean broken bits of shell off my picnic table all summer and fall. I love the height and spread of this beautiful tree, don't love so much the fruit. And I can only imagine what the chickens think every time a nut drops onto their roof! haha
Walnuts r messy but worth it if u eat, bake or use for medicinal. Almost every cancer cure from herbs use black walnuts. My son had ringworm that would not heal back n early 80's. My mother cut the green hull off an rubbed it on it till u could tell it was stained. It healed before the stain eventually wore or washed away. I've used it many times since then on my pets when they swim n our pond an picks up rash or ringworm from neighbors cats.
They r messy n yard if u don't gather them. I take leaf blower anblow to woods for squirrels. U
"The sky is falling" of course!
