Someone else had this same question, but I did not see a direct answer. Are the white tubular things roots or stems ? I planted mine yesterday with the fine hair-like brown part facing upward and fear that I may have planted them upside down. Please respond asap, so I can replant if necessary. Thanks
from all previous posts & replies, I'm huessing the readon my astilbes turned browned was the recent excessive heat in CT while I was away... my question is what to do now? Should I cut back the flower stalks?
Hello, my astilbes are planted in junk dirt (almost clay). Should I consider replacing the soil?? I moved into a new house last year and planted them and they came back this year and look fine. Thank you
Hello...Last nite we had heavy rain and wind and caused my astrilbe to flatten..I'm in NJ...First time I ever had this happen...Also with the feathers(pink) the astrilbe is about 4and half feet tall... My husband and I took string and wrapped around to stand up...What to do? If I should let it dry out or cut feathers? Plant is very healthy...
we have deer in our backyard - will the deer eat these plants.

Hi Ron,
Thank you for your feedback. We have tweaked the text a bit to be more clear about the plant's soil and water requirements.
