I bought a house on 7 acres a year n half ago.
I have a grape vine and it's on the ground. It has ALOT of grapes. I want to proper care for it and get it off the ground. Should I try to separate the vines now and build a trellis now or do it in the spring?
I can send pics of someone emails me.
Thank You very much

From the sound of it, your vine probably hasn't been pruned for a while. That would be your first step. Because of the way grape vines grow and fruit, they should be pruned every year. You will want to choose some of the older wood to serve as the "permanent" framework to support the fruiting canes; pruning should be done to remove the previous year's fruiting canes. The idea is to remove the canes that have fruited and keep the younger canes that have yet to fruit--each year you are making room for the following year's fruit. It would be a good idea to get it pruned and onto a trellis now.
What month is good to plant grapes, what month are they ready to prun and what month are they ready to pick.
Thanks
i want to know about the growing grape gardens
I am wondering when is the best time to harvest concord grapes in Utah. I have heard several opinions regarding the best time such as waiting for the first frost. The grapes are sweet and plump, but the vines are still mostly green. Any advice?
It is mid September in Michigan. We were given seven bare root grape plants. Should we plant them now? Or should we wait until spring? How would we preserve them until spring? Thank you.

Yes, you can grow grape vines on a chain link fence. It's often more difficult to prune and harvest grapes with a chain link fence than a trellis or arbor, but also the grapes will like the support and take to it.
Besides grapes, you could grow some great vines that will go crazy, including morning glory vines, passionflower, trumpet vine, honeysuckle (not the invasive kind).
