Specialty varieties of peace lilies are not very easy to come by in most garden centers, though they have been growing in popularity. You may have more success ordering them from an online source.
- Spathiphyllum wallisii is a smaller peace lily, reaching only 12 inches tall.
- ‘Petite’ is smaller still, at approximately 8–10 inches.
- ‘Sensation’ is the largest variety available, capable of growing up to 4–6 feet in height and width.
- ‘Domino’, is a medium-sized variety with attractively variegated leaves.
- ‘Mojo Lime’, which has lime-green foliage, is another medium-sized peace lily.

I’ve had a lily that’s been outside in the ground for years. It’s never bloomed and dies back in winter. Three winters ago my husband planted a Heavenly Bamboo on top of it, but it has continued to push its way through the roots and branches of the shrub and as of today it’s never been taller and there is a bloom! It’s almost like the shrub is protecting it.
I have a lily that’s getting worse by the day when I bought it it was fine and the last two months it’s just starting to curl over and now it’s all curled over , even the new flower , it just looks so sick and sad what am I doing wrong or can I save it. Also is my air conditioner could be the cause
Most peace lily problems are caused by either watering or lighting issues. Assess what sort of lighting (strong sunlight, no sunlight, artificial light only, etc.) your plant has been kept in, and also consider your water habits (are you watering too frequently—or too infrequently?). A consistent cold breeze from the air conditioner can also be detrimental to the plant, so consider moving it out of range of the arctic air!
We have a peace lilly that has recently gotten black places on some of the leaves. We have it on our screened porch and wondering if it is a fungus? We have another ivy style plant getting a couple of the same black places on its leaves too.???? This plant is about 5 feet away from the peace lilly on a table. Both plants are in the afternoon sun a little bit, could that be a problem?
Thank you for this clear and thorough article. I have a beautiful peace lily that's growing quickly and flourishing. It now has three flowers, but two of them have turned green and yellow. Should I cut the green flowers and their stalks so that the plant can direct its resources to growing the third bloom?
Thank you for your help!
Hello, I've had my Peace Lily since 1994 when I first got a place of my own. Recently it almost died due to over watering by people in the office where it lived on my desk. I took it home a few months ago and it's recovered well, but the leaves are now very pale green. It sits on an East facing window and I water it with tap water.
Is there anything I can do to get the leaves back to a nice dark colour?
Thank you.
Hi, I love peace lilie. Mostly because it takes a while before yhey inevitably die. Most of the other house plants Ive bought have doed quicker. You guessd it? I dont have a green thumb but I must have plants in my house. So, I keep my lilly on my kitchen counter. Where i live has 4 seasons so i keep it inside. I will die after about 5-9 months. How can Stop them from dieing?
I want to put my peace lilies on my south-facing screened-in porch. I live in the New Orleans, LA, area. What kind of summer time temps. can these peace lilies handle? They will get no direct sunlight where I will put them.

Hi Lavina,
It's possible that moving to a new environment (however perfect the conditions) has shocked the plant. Make sure the pot has good drainage, and water the plant whenever the soil begins to feel dry. Remove any dead or dying leaves. After a week or so, you should see some improvement!
