I would love to see DST go away and we stay on standard time. I have always wished it did not get dark at 530-540pm during winter solstice. It should not get dark til 630-645pm so people and children can still do things outside after work.
I haven't met a person who has liked time change other than when we switch to standard time. it's miserable and pointless. Honestly, i don't care which they choose but choose one and stick to it. I don't know why this is such a big deal for Congress to step up and just make it happen other than the nonsense pork they stick in the bills that inevitably lead to it failing to pass. I especially detest immediately having daylight stripped away through fall and winter when it's already scarce as it is. I truly hate leaving for work in the dark in the morning and then leaving work in the dark as well. The one coming up this Sunday is particularly horrible (and I get you get an extra hour) but what daylight I had left after work is completely shot. So all the hours in the day I would have with daylight are whipped out. No bueno, man.
I really hate daylight savings time. it is not healthy. what do we have to do to get daylight savings time eliminated ?? I sleep much better on standard time. my body feels better on standard time. please please please do away with daylight savings time. please.
I am for keeping standard time all year round. Stop adjusting our clocks and let individual businesses adjust their work hours if they need or want to. The daylight is often different depending on how close you live to the east or west side of your time zone anyway.
I want standard time and please eliminate DST time as I am tired with more daylight and less darkness. Our electricity bill is not dramatically increasing either it is only about .5 % anyway. About 25% of people have health and cardiac problems and they are not getting enough sleep including me. Likewise I don't want more daylight till 9 pm anyway because it doesn't serve any purpose at all. Kids also go cranky as well. So I want standard time very badly.
Thanks
Who wants to get home at 4:30p and its dark out? Keep DST and be done with this old, useless pastime.
Mainly for driving and also for children after school events.
Been watching the skies all my life; people, animals, the nature in all of it (dark and light), healthcare too. I move that we keep Standard time year round; because, the universe cries for it, as does the earth, itself, and all that it holds.
There is plenty of "Up Side" keeping the same standard of Time year round. Changing twice a year has made me so miserable that I stay on DLST year round. Two family members suffer from depression and the twice a year change in the way experience Time exacerbates that condition. Plus the other health risks noted. I have a heart murmur. Changing my schedule by an hour twice a year has made it cumulatively worse after seven decades!
Why in the world do we have to keep doing something that was started for reasons that seemed to make sense to those in a position to do it over 100 years ago, but no longer "hold water" in today's modern age? Let's just keep what we all know as Standard Time, based on mean Greenwich England time, and keep the clocks the same year-round! No more seemingly ENDLESS DISCUSSION in Congress, no more time related IT problems , no more MILKING AND SUPPLY CHAIN problems for farmers, no more ADDITIONAL INCREASE IN HEALTH RISKS such as heart attack / stroke , and no more SCHOOL CHILDREN getting hit by cars on their way to school in the morning, in the dark! When are we going to stop creating more problems for ourselves under the guise of "progress"? Where is the wisdom in that?!
