I guess they don't realize that states will have to start school later so kids aren't going in the dark. By doing this workers are going to have to start late which will put your 9 to 5ers at 10 to 6 and they will still be coming home in the dark. Join the real world of the people that work sunrise to sunset they just make my day later. Stupid stay on standard time...
We are living in a democratic country and most of us want to abolish DST. Why these senators did just the opposite? Vote them out! Abolish DST!!!
I like changing the clocks I like it getting darker earlier in the winter months settling down with a good movie and some popcorn and hot chocolate and not have to worry about the sun coming in or waiting for it to go down and snuggle up with my hubby and relax. Also we would have to wait at Christmas to go out and look at the lights.
The relation ship with our sun and earth have created a Circadian Rhythm relationship that affects all living creatures on earth especially people. Our bodies work the best during STANDARD TIME which is closest to that Circadian Rhythm. So I would think all companies, farmers, government etc. would want their workers to function at their best during their daily working hours.
I think if should be left on standard time as I hate seeing kids going to school in the dark and I live across the street from a elementary school. Also I really hate moving the clock forward in the spring as it disrupts my sleep cycle. I also have sleep apna and it is hard for me to get a good nights sleep in the spring and summer months.
Standard time should be the permanent time. The sun and earth's rotation should dictate the time. Your internal clock does not change just because the wall clock does. This is very disruptive to people who cannot fall asleep earlier, but are forced to get up earlier during DST. A lack of sleep on a regular basis is extremely harmful to ones health. And the statement that exercise increases because of DST cannot reallly be proven. The increase for this activity is mostly because it is the warmer months. How are parents going to feel when the clocks don't change back snd their children will have to go to school in the dark mornings?
Leave the time on Standard! Time should be what it has been throughout history. The sun should determine the time and not people! I hate the "jumping forward" in the Spring.
The four standard time zones in US was introduced in the 1880s and not fully adopted until the early 20th century. Before then each city set its own time sometime only minutes apart from neighboring cities. Railroads found it difficult to establish schedules and pushed for the four time zones. Back in the day standard time was sometimes called railroad time.
I'm sorry, standard time is what should be kept permanent. Standard time, is the original time, hence standard. Daylight savings time was put in place for many different reasons. Kids should not have to go to school in the dark, it poses too many danger risks. Which is what would happen if we go to permanent daylight savings time. When it was decided years ago to go to permanent daylight savings time, I was one of those children who had to wait for a bus and or walk to school in the dark. It is very scary, stressful, and not a way for a child to have to start their day, on a daily basis.
Honestly, in the winter, I had to go to the bus stop in the dark anyway even in standard time. It wouldn't make a huge difference.
