When a deceased Veteran is cremated and the flag is presented to the next if kin and there is an Honor Guard to unfold the flag and present it in Full, then is folded back up prior to handing it to the next of Kin..
Should the people in attendance stand at any time in respect to the flag until it is handed to the next of kin ??
Hi, Del: This varies according custom, setting, and so forth. The funeral director, clergy, or military officer conducting the service will usually indicate to attendees when to sit or stand, often after preconsultation with the family (and/or prenotification to attendees). Thanks for being so patriotic to ask!
If both the American flag and a State flag is flown together on a pole, Does the State flag have to be smaller in size. I once saw someone with a state flag the was a little larger in size that the American flag that was flying above the State flag.
If Old Glory is hanging on a wall, with the Union to the top right, what is the intended meaning? I don't know if it was hung that way in ignorance or on purpose.
If a flag needs to be taken down in his rain and the flag is what how should care be taken with it should it still be folded?
Hi, Heidi: If Old Glory gets wet, it's perfectly OK to bring it inside and hang it up to dry or even put it in the dryer (if it's fabric, not nylon, and care instructions allow). Then, when dry, it would be properly folded before being taken outside again. Thanks for caring so much to ask!
Is it allowed to drape an american flag on a wreath for a deceased veteran of the armed forces?

Hi, Robby(?): One of the most important things that Old Glory stands for is Freedom of Speech, which would allow you to fly a 13-star flag above a 50-star Old Glory, whether "blacked out" or not. Preferably, though, neither one of these things would be done. Thanks for asking!
