What are the rules about wearing subdued flags while on continental US? I see a lot of military and ex-military folks doing it, to include myself, but what is the actual rules on that?
Hi, Elvin: Flags on uniforms are not really "flags" (flying freely) but uniform parts, the display of which is governed by the armed services branches themselves. If such flags are not on a uniform but used elsewhere, they are "flag art," which is OK (not governed by any rules). Thanks for asking!
Can political banners be flown on the same staff as the American Flag?
What is the etiquette for a flag that is half American and half Canadian? It seems to me to be disrespectful.
So when a flag is flown outside a building on a flagstaff should it be on the right or left side of the door?
The picture of the flag with the bridge behind it should be changed. I'm not being nit picky but the picture is of a flag that is damaged. The bottom right corner is torn. This flag should have been retired. I served 25 years in our Army and this has some meaning to me. Just wanted you to be aware of this. The whole point of this website is to show the correct way to fly our flag, thanks.

Hi, Christy: Flying something above Old Glory besides the finial (eagle or ball, for example) is highly frowned upon, not only because of the notions of hierarchy and appearance, but also because anything above her theoretically could detach, fall, and damage her. Thanks for asking!
