How to Properly Display the American Flag

A restaurant had a denim tapestry on wall that was generally in shape of fall but with different colors and with the bars and stars manipulated. People were offended by this and said it was inappropriate display even though there was nothing offense in its representation. Is this ok?
May a flag be used in a stage production?
We want to distress the flag with paint and pull it down.
I was wondering if those patches are wrong... It makes the flag backwards.the blue is not in the Right side of the stripes... Not to the left.
I feel the flag patches are a discrace to the rules of the American Flags! To me they are not an american flag way to use the flag.
Am I wrong? Please help me understand.
They are certainly not a disgrace. Since the Civil War, it has been tradition to give the appearance of a flag appearing to move forward, not in retreat. The display honors the flag, it is consistent with Army Uniform Code and with the tradition of military service.
Think of it this way. THE STARS NEVER RETREAT! The stars should always be facing forward as if the wind is blowing into them. Thus if the flag patch is attached to the "Right" arm, a reverse flag should be used so the wind blows into the stars as the person moves forward. I hope this helps.
Hello, I’ve been seeing a lot of American flags with Donald Trump’s printed on it. To me this is very disrespectful to the flag but I would like to know your opinion on it. If it’s OK to put Donald Trump‘s picture on it where does this end? How many more people will start thinking it’s OK to put their picture on the flag. I would appreciate your facts or opinion about this.
Hi, Richard: It is not proper to add anything to Old Glory—whether a face, a colored line, or whatever—if the flag is still used in the context of being the true U.S. flag representing our country. However, once Old Glory is thus modified, it technically becomes "flag art," which is protected under Freedom of Speech, so anything goes. Thanks for being so patriotic to ask!
