How to Properly Display the American Flag

Is there any soecific location on my house that the flag should be flown from? i.e. front pirch column, front of garage(if forward of front porch)? Right side over left side of house?
My son is a new Marine and I would like to hang their flag as well as the American flag, one on each side of a bay window. Both flags are the same size, as are the poles I bought. Can they be hung this way and at what height if so? For example, does the pole for the Marine flag need to be mounted lower than the American flag to be compliant? Thank you in advance!
Hi, Michele: Congratulations to your son—and to his mom! As you face the bay window from the outside, Old Glory would be on the left side and USMC on the right. The height is up to you, but of course the flags should not come close to the ground. The poles can be at the same height. Thanks for asking!
If the AMERICAN FLAG on a stand falls over and hits the carpet, is it removed or can it be stood up and continue to be used?
I looked on our local American Legion website. It said provided that the flag was not damaged or soiled that it could still be used.
