How to Properly Display the American Flag

Hi, Michael: A flag such as you describe is a desecration not only of Old Glory but also of the Ukrainian flag. Once Old Glory is changed like this, though, it is no longer the Stars and Stripes, representing the United States, but simply a piece of "flag art," which—ironically—is protected by the same Freedom of Speech for which Old Glory stands. You would not pledge allegiance to such a flag, for example, inasmuch as it has now become just a decoration. A good way to show support for Ukraine is simply to fly the Ukrainian flag itself, with or without Old Glory. Thanks for being so patriotic to ask!
Hi, Jeremy: We're not quite sure what you mean by "135° angle," as that would be tipping it quite downward, which we doubt you are doing. If you mean tilting the staff 45° down from the vertical, aka halfway toward horizontal, that would be OK. If you mean that you have it lying flat on a wall and it is slanted downward at 135°, that would not be OK, as it should be either vertical or horizontal, in either case with the blue union to the upper left. If it is indoors, it does not need to be iluminated at night. Thanks for caring so much to ask!
