Do we gain or lose an hour during Daylight Saving Time?
When Daylight Saving Time starts in spring, we set the clocks forward and lose an hour. When it ends in fall, we set the clocks back and gain an hour. -

Will my phone change automatically for Daylight Saving Time?
Most smartphones, computers, and other devices that are connected to the internet update themselves if you have them set to update date, time, and time zone automatically. You might still need to change the time by hand on things like appliances, cars, or wall clocks. -
Does Canada change clocks on the same day as the United States?
Some parts of Canada still change their clocks on the same schedule as the United States. However, provinces and territories set their own time rules, and several of them stopped changing clocks in 2026.
British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories will not turn their clocks back on November 1, 2026. Yukon and Saskatchewan also use one time year-round.
Other parts of Canada, including most of Ontario and Quebec and the Atlantic provinces, continue to observe seasonal time changes.

There is absolutely no need to change clocks. I don't change my watch either, because I know that it's stupid to change what a clock says. I also hope the lie of DST will end. What a clock says is arbitrary, so it's stupid to number the times differently. It amazes me how many people think that changing what a clock says somehow "magically" changes how the sun moves. Also, people absolutely can change their schedules without changing their clocks.
Leave it alone
I love the time changes. As soon as the time changes you see people out walking and playing after supper. Wonderful.
Millions of people fly all over the world through many time changes with no problem. But, change one hour for the better and listen to them rant. This year will be my 80th time change. Bring it on...!
Leave the time one way, either D.T or S.T, not both. (Middle Tn.)
There was a time when farmers were the majority. No longer. And really, their work isn't dependent on time, its dependent on the sun, so keep doing what YOU are doing and let the rest of us have some more sunshine when we get home from work.
"Daylight Saving Time begins on the..."
It does not. The start time has changed several times over the years. And if you want to check the obvious, "always" includes the period before clocks were invented!
Science tells us our internal circadian rhythm is in tune with standard time.
I guess I'm ignorant. I do not see any benefits, time being "saved", energy saved, but I do see a LOT of negatives, in the comments below, and livestock not adapting, health issues especially heart attacks, my dogs now wake me an hour earlier to go potty causing me to lose sleep, young parents with toddlers and infants having to deal with it, to name a few. Rather than let some out-of-touch politicians decide what's best, why not put it on the ballot and let the voters decide? I can guess the outcome...bye, bye DST.
Daylight saving time might be fine for people in southern states, where days and nights are about equal in length all year. In the northern tier of states, we need standard time the year around. In summer it doesn't cool off until after people go to bed. No one gets to see a beautiful summer evening or night. All we see is hot, bright day. Winter mornings are bleak when it's dark, but winter evenings are lovely and full of Christmas lights. With daylight saving time, we miss the nicest part of every (24-hour) day.
