Monday, January 21, 2019: Full Wolf Moon.

In 2019, the first Moon of the year is on January 21 at 11:41 P.M. It’s total lunar eclipse, visible from the entire United States and Canada, beginning on the night of the 20th at 10:34 P.M. with totality starting at 11:41 P.M. Traditionally, this full Moon was called the “Wolf Moon,” appearing when wolves howled outside the villages in hunger. The January Moon has also been called the Old Moon. To some Native American tribes, this was the Snow Moon, but most applied that name to the next full Moon, in February.
