Well, I thought DST year-round was the way to go, but after reading this article and others' comments, perhaps standard time is better. Whichever the case, I'd prefer not changing the clocks at all. It seems to be very harmful to the health of several people.
Changing to Daylight saving time permanently is one of the most ridiculous things enforced by the government. DAYLIGHT IS NOT A FUN IDEA TO BE CHANGED AT WILL. IT IS A HEALTH THING; we have a natural internal clock and should not be changed by anyone. HAVE ANY OF THESE PERMANENT DAYLIGHT PEOPLE even read about how this affects the human system? Even if there are a few things better for them in the evening, is it worth doing a negative thing that everyone IS FORCED to live by. Research the circadian rhythm, how it affects mood and mental health and can have negative effects on our natural internal clock. There is research that found staying on DSL is not natural and was changed back because of problems. I dont have time now to find the articles but there are several out there. People should be informed before these dicisions are made. And where were these votes to change done. I was never asked to vote on this and everyone should be included. LEAVE IT ON STANDARD TIME. IT IS NATURAL.
Permanent daylight savings time is the way to go. If congress doesn't pass it for all of the states, let the states that want to stay on permanent daylight savings time stay on it and let the ones that want permanent standard time stay on it. Problem solved.
Hell yeah! Give us year round daylight saving time, and nothing else! No more of those dreaded, horrible, and highly annoying, depressing pre 5:00 PM sunsets during the second half of fall, and dead of winter if so! To think we can also have 6:00 PM sunsets as soon as the middle of January, rather than having to wait until near the halfway point of March for that to happen (and then some), once DST thankfully kicks back in too!
Read about circadian rhythm, and how messing with this internal clock has affected our health.
I think that it's high time to stop changing the clocks twice a year. The original reasons are not valid anymore and are just an annoyance to everyone. Hopefully the powers that be will do something about it very soon!
Stay on regular time
Standard time is the only way that makes sense for our health. Sacrificing morning light for evening light makes no sense. It's not just disruptive when we change clocks it's like permanently living in the wrong time zone. Our bodies want to follow the sun, but those of us who have to report to work or school in the morning during DST are forced to go against nature or be constantly late. It's physically unhealthy and mentally oppressive.
Standard time is the only way to go. I have sleep problems enough without changing the clocks, or even going to DST. Yes, there are those who think that they enjoy the light in the evening, but wait until winter if DST goes into effect, Do you enjoy getting up in the dark, sending your children to school in the dark. And the supposed extra hour of daylight in the evening in the winter will not result in going outside and playing as it will be too cold or wet. For those dealing with animals, there is a set schedule. The animals are attuned to the light and darkness, not to clocks. Me, I go by the sun. You change the clock, but I will continue to live my life according to the hours of daylight and night by the rotating of the earth, not by some mandate by government.
Bravo....I totally agree with you.
