How to Properly Display the American Flag

Just recently, 13 US soldiers were killed Aug. 26, 2021 in Afghanistan in an attack by the Taliban near the airport in Kabul. Flags have been flown at half-staff in the wake of that attack but how long should they be kept at half-staff before being returned to full-staff?
Thanks.
I have read that the colors of the American flag are red, white and blue as an homage to valor, innocence and perseverance. Important characteristics when discussing our nation.
The thin-blue line flag drains the American flag of the red white and blue. In the thin blue line all color is drained from the flag and it is portrayed in high contrast black and white with the eighth stripe from the top, sixth stripe from the bottom being blue.
The thin-blue line flag was developed in opposition to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.
BLM started because Black men are 2.5 times as likely over the course of their lives to be shot to death by police as compared to White men and Black women are 1.4 times as likely to be shot to death by police as compared to White women. The fact that our country tolerates such disparities when talking about the deprivation of a human’s life without due process is indeed a reason for anger & distress and a call for just action & radical change.
Yet the thin-blue line flag was developed and a movement in opposition to BLM started almost overnight.
My questions are simple:
1. Isn’t the thin-blue line flag a distortion of and therefore a desecration of the American flag?
2. Under the US Constitution every person (not just every citizen though the vast majority of Black people in the US are US citizens) has the right to due process. The fact that Black men are 2.5 times more likely to be shot to death by police over the course of their lives than White men and that Black women are 1.4 times as likely to be shot to death by police over the course of their lives than White women is not only tragic, not only a violation of their human rights but also a violation of their fifth amendment rights to due process.
The creation of the thin-blue line flag in opposition to Black Lives Matter is divisive.
The flag should be a symbol of our nation. The flag should be a symbol of national pride for every citizen regardless of gender, race, color, ethnicity, country of origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, or religion.
The thin-blue line flag is a distortion of our nation’s flag and a desecration of it.
It implies that Americans reject the basic premise of the Black Lives Matter movement, that Black people are people, that Black people deserve the same human, civil, constitutional, and legal rights and protections as everyone else including the right not to be deprived of their lives without due process.
Given that it is a literal distortion of our nation’s flag and its divisive nature, implying that Americans reject BLM and its premise, isn’t the thin blue-line flag a desecration of our nation’s flag?
Where does this fall with respect to flag etiquette?
When the American flag is on a pole with other (military service flags), and the American flag is directed to be at 1/2 staff, must all other flags also be lowered to 1/2 staff?
Thanks in advance.
When dipping the flag Pryor to flying lighted, how low should the flag be dipped?
I wish to fly my flag on Sept 11. May I put a black bow and ribbon on the top of the pole? My pole is too low to fly my flag at half staff. Is the black ribbon appropriate?

Hi, Rick: It's perfectly fine to do this. Thanks for asking!
