HOW HIGH A WIND SPEED MAY THE "STARS AND STRIPS" BE FLOWN IN? [IE: FROM POLE IN BACK OF PICKUP OR ABOARD A SHIP]
I found an old flag in a historic building that we are restoring. The flag is dirty, worn and torn. We would like to frame the flag "as is." In the frame people will be able to see that the flag is dirty, worn and torn. Will this violate any flag protocol? Will this offend anyone?
please advise
thanks
Dale R.
Hi, Dale: It is perfectly OK to frame under glass a historic Old Glory that has become bedraggled. If someone happens to be offended by something that exists by the thousands throughout our country, then perhaps they might also realize that any Old Glory anywhere actually stands for the Freedom of Speech that guarantees their right to offer up protest, if desired. Thanks for being so patriotic to ask!
Can a flag that isn’t representing a state or any us government possession be flown on the same flag pole as the us flag? In other words can a non government flag be flown on the same flag pole as the us flag?
I intend to mount two flags one American flag and one snake flag on a 4 x 4 pole. What side do I put the American flag on and how do I determine which side is left or right by viewing it from the street or from my house?
My church just had a complaint on flag etiquette,. My question is in front of church we have a flagpole with the American Flag on it. To the side of the church around 100 feet away we have a flagpole up on the hill with a Israel flag by it self to show our support. being that the flagpoles are so far from each other our we in the right. I understand it the were right beside each other the American flag would be the highest but with the distance i believe we are correct.

Hi, Steve: Freedom of Speech allows us to do whatever we want to Old Glory, but once we do, the result is no longer Old Glory but instead simply a piece of fabric to which, for example, we would not pledge allegiance, and with which we would not drape a veteran's casket. Thanks for asking!
