How to Properly Display the American Flag
More Like This
If you are taking two different flags to the the front of an auditorium, which flag should go first, the US flag or the other one?
A flag honoring a dead veteran was presented to his family. It was properly folded and packaged with the shell casings of the 21 gun salute. The question is, is that flag now "retired" and not to be flown or can it be unfolded and flown once again?
Thanks
It is appropriate for Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts to salute the flag? Boy Scouts are currently taught to salute when in uniform but Girl Scouts are not. Curious what is correct.
Is it disrespectful to wear The Flag over one’s shoulders/wrapped around their body like a cape or cloak?
"The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose, nor embroidered on cushions or handkerchiefs, printed on paper napkins or boxes, nor used as any portion of a costume."
I think that last part clearly answers your question.
I live in an adult community that allows us to have a flag on our homes. Some residents feel that the flag must be mounted at the highest point on the front of the home near an attic window. I keep my flag in a bracket mounted near the top of my garage door, so I can take it down, or put it up easily. Some residents feel this is not a correct way to display the flag. We all use virtually the same mounting bracket and pole.
