How to Properly Display the American Flag

Why were only the stars covered from the rain at Senator McCain's funeral?
I've always believed that the flag may be displayed at night if there is sufficient light (street lights, building lights) for it to be easily viewed, even without spotlighting. Is that correct?
No. The flag MUST be properly illuminated. Meaning you MUST have some kind of lights shining on the flag itself. You can find some decent soft spotlights at most major hardware stores. Just let them know what your trying to light up, and usually they will already know everything you need.

IF THIS IS THE LAW WERE CAN I GET IT ….
This article has a major flaw, only soldiers and veterans should salute the flag, civilians should place hand over heart!
I believe you are correct. Men without service stand at attention hands at sides or right hand over heart. Appropriate for women hand over heart unless served, then salute. That's what I remember as well.

Hi, Randy: Either way would be appropriate. Thanks for asking!
