How to Properly Display the American Flag
More Like This
Is it a violation for a Pride rainbow flag to fly on the same pole as the American Flag?
I apologize in advance if this has been asked. When a flag needs to be replaced due to being torn, is there a proper time of the day to change the old flag with a new flag?
Yes, the torn flag should be lowered as soon as possible.
Should a state flag larger than the American be flown on the same pole?
I recently saw a member of Congress (The house of Representatives) give an interview to a local TV News network. There were 2-flags displayed behind the Congress person. Each flag was displayed separately, at equal levels, on its own "staff", the speaker appeared to be seated at a desk. However, the American Flag, the Stars and Stripes, was to the congress member's LEFT (to my right as I viewed the interview). I'm assuming the flag to the right of the Congress member (my left) was most likely a U S Government flag of some kind, I could not see the lettering or insignia on that flag, it was NOT the Stars and Stripes.
In my opinion, I believe the Congress person had the flags displayed incorrectly. Or, if I'm unaware of different etiquette, with respect to U S Government elected officials, I apologize for my lack of knowledge.
I would like your opinion to my observation. Thank you kindly.

Thank you for confirming my thoughts that the flags were improperly displayed. I've written a message to the Congress member to enlighten that elected government official.
