I just want to know why is it okay to place any picture or saying over the American Flag? I find this so wrong!!
We live in a condo development with very strict. Was told it was wrong to put a collegiate flag in the American flag holder on game day. I know the American must always be flown above any other flag. but the question was can they take the American flag down on game day and put up their collegiate flag?
Hi, Criss: In general, you can do whatever you want with your flag holder and flags, which is protected by Freedom of Speech, but by the same token, when you agree to a Homeowners' Association or condo association's rules and regulations, you often are agreeing to give up such rights. Thanks for asking!
What flags are permitted to be flown under the American flag? Is there a restriction on the number of flags that can be placed on the same pole?
In the event of a graduation where multiple national and state flags are also present on stage, what would be the appropriate way to display the flags?
Hi, Bre: When viewed from the audience, Old Glory would be on the far left. Then would come any other national flags—the order doesn't really matter, but alphabetical from left to right works. Next would come the state flag of the state in which the ceremony is taking place. Then would come any other state flags... again, alpha from left to right works fine. Thanks for caring so much to ask!
