How to Properly Display the American Flag
More Like This
I see a political flag that has the American flag on the left third of it, and the political message on the right 2/3. The American flag portion is vertical and has the union on the right. Does the entire political flag violate flag code (advertising), or just the third that incorrectly displays the American flag with the union on the right?
Hi, Justin: Old Glory, meaning the flag representing the United States of America, consists of the blue "union" with 50 white stars and the 7 red and 6 white stripes—and nothing more. Once the artifact that is Old Glory is modified, added to, or subtracted from in any way, it is no longer Old Glory but instead "flag art" and no longer represents the USA, regardless of where the blue union happens to be located. Thanks for caring so much to ask!
The U.S. Flag is NOT a fashion statement, or a GARMENT to wear. It really angers me to see the Flag worn on shirts and pants, hoodies and hats. Very disrespectful, not patriotic.
IS IT PROPER TO DISPLAY FLAGS OF PRIDE AND JUNTEENTH FROM THE SAME STAFF AND UNDER THEU.S.FLAG?
What is proper when you have to walk past a hanging flag from a wall…….no way to get around it. If wind is blowing it I wait for it to be up in air and I bend and run under it. Or sometimes able to fun behind it.
This bothers me because I deeply respect our U.S. Flag.
Should the flag be used as a weapon?
When the flag is displayed from a balcony, which corner should the blue field be in, too left or top right (from public view)?
Should the US flag be flown from the back of a pickup truck alongside a flag of failed presidential candidate? Should the US flag be worn as an article of clothing?
