Chocolate Waffles

Recipe for Chocolate Waffles


2 cups cake flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/4 cups milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 eggs, separated and beaten
sliced fruit, for topping


Preheat waffle iron.

In a bowl, mix dry ingredients. Add milk, butter, chocolate, and egg yolks, beating well after each. Whip egg whites and gently fold into the batter.

Fill griddle ⅔ full and bake until steam stops emerging. Top with fruit.


Makes 6 to 8 servings.
