My daughter bought me a hyacinth plant for Mother's Day and it has wilted. I live in NYC with no outdoor space and I do not have a green thumb! Any recommendations for how to preserve the plant and replant for next year - after leaves start to die back do I just store bulb in the frig and then replant? Since I live in an apt without a garden, not sure when or how to replant. Thx!!
I bought 3 hyacinths from walmart for mothers day. They were in full bloom. We kept them in their individual pots for 4 days until we bought soil. We planted them and by the 2nd day the already started wilting. What happened? What do I do now?
I have a simple question but keep getting sent to the same sites that don't answer the question. Can you grow hyacinths from the seed pods?????
How will letting the hyacinth go to seed effect the bulb?
Hello, I bought some Hyacinth 3" stems from trader Joes. I'm not sure if I just put them in the case indoors with water, or if ai need to put them in soil? The don't have a bulb on the bottoms of them like a lot of pictures I see on here.

My Hyacinth bloomed around 4/10/15 and today 5/14/15 my friend while weeding accidentally cut the stalk and leaves back. What should I do?

Hi Joanna,
After the leaves have turned brown dig up and examine the bulbs to make sure that they are still healthy. Hyacinths need as much sun as possible. Replant the bulbs in a spot that also gets morning sun. Add compost to the soil and after replanting the bulbs fertilize with liquid seaweed or fish fertilizer to help bulb formation for next year.
