I just received 2 hyacinths each in a vase with water only. it says to keep them 75% filled. after they bloom and the flower dies what do I do? can I regrow them in water next season?
I just received 2 hyacinths and they came in glass vases filled with water. it says to keep it 75% filled. it doesn't say what to do after they bloom. can you help me? the store lady told my husband to put then in a dark place but can I put them back in water and raise them that way or do I have to pant them in soil. they are my first and I am excited!!
When the leaves turn yellow or brown remove the bulbs from the vases. Remove the wilted leaves and trim the roots. Put the bulbs in a paper bag in a dark, cool area for about 8 weeks. Then place the bulbs in the glass vases with water and put the vases and bulbs in a dark cool area to root (40° to 48°F is ideal temp). When you see new top growth bring them into a room with dim light. Gradually move the hyacynths into more light and warmer temperatures.

Hi Cindy,
It's better to wait and plant the bulbs after the heavy rain.
