We love this Banana Pudding with vanilla wafers! Our version is rich and decadent, but also takes almost no time to make! Serve in a casserole dish or have fun with layers and serve in individuals glass jars or goblets. Taste great warm or cold!

1 cup flour
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package vanilla wafers
Several (3 or 4) bananas, thinly sliced
whipped cream for topping (optional)

In a saucepan, combine flour, egg yolks, sugar, and milk. Mix until smooth. Bring slowly to a boil and cook until thick and the consistency of pudding. Stir in vanilla. In a 2-quart casserole dish or in individual bowls, place a layer of vanilla wafers, a layer of thinly sliced bananas, and about half of the pudding. Repeat, working quickly. Top with whipped cream if desired.
