Our Chocolate Fudge is made with sour cream for a mouthwateringly creamy light candy that makes a tasty gift. We had walnuts but you may use other nuts (or, not!).
Butter a shallow baking dish. Combine sugar, salt, and sour cream. Cook to the soft ball stage (when a bit of syrup dropped into a cup of cold water forms a soft ball). Cool slightly and add vanilla. Beat until thick and creamy, then add nuts. Pour into buttered dish. When slightly cool cut into squares.
