Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

1-1/2 cups elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1-3/4 cups milk
1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9-inch baking dish.

Cook macaroni according to package directions.

Melt butter in a skillet. Add salt and pepper and stir. Add flour and cook over low heat, stirring constantly. Add milk and whisk to combine. Add cheese and stir until it melts.

Drain macaroni and pour into prepared dish. Pour cheese mixture over macaroni and stir to combine. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
