Sift dry ingredients together. Add mashed sweet potatoes, mix well. Cut in shortening and gradually add enough milk to make a soft dough. Roll dough out lightly on a floured surface to ⅓-inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Place in a greased pan and bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
